Turkey and Sweet Potato Burgers

Summer is coming - which to us means one thing… BBQ Season! We’ve created these turkey and sweet potato burgers just for you to enjoy alongside your friends and family this season. They are packed with lean protein, fiber, and essential nutrients and are a great option for women with PCOS (and everyone else!) It provides a balanced meal without sacrificing taste. Enjoy your PCOS-friendly burger on a whole wheat bun topped with veggies such as pickles, lettuce and tomatoes - or however you would usually enjoy a burger!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup grated sweet potato
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, grated sweet potato, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with cooking spray or olive oil. Cook the turkey and sweet potato burgers for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
